Welcome to Loglogic

Formed in 1992 to manufacture computer controlled timber harvesting systems, Loglogic is now one of the UK's leading manufacturers of specialist low ground pressure tracked vehicles and associated equipment.

Loglogic has gone on to develop a wide range of equipment for use in the nature conservation, agriculture, forestry, and utility industries.

Based in Devon, England, Loglogic prides itself on its ability to design, develop, and manufacture specialised equipment for a wide range of applications, using either variants of its standard machines or developing bespoke solutions to meet the customer’s exact requirements.

British designed and built, the Loglogic Autotrek Mobile Sawmill is one of the largest capacity mobile sawmills of its type. Using wide-band saw technology with 101mm (4”) wide stellite tipped saws (remains sharper in abrasive timbers) to allow all timbers (including Greenheart) to be cut accurately and efficiently up to 1000mm wide.

The saw head is diesel hydraulically poweredone of the safest forms of power for any mobile sawmill. This can start or stop the saw blade in less than five seconds. It is well known that the majority of accidents happen while moving timber in the proximity of a live blade. Besides the safety benefits, direct hydrostatic drive has become more flexible than ever for mobile and portable equipment. The Autotrek has been proven on some of the most demanding projects, with contractors and the British Army using the Autotrek throughout the world.

Operating in temperatures up to + 40c in Africa & South America down to -20c in Russia.

The Autotrek is fitted as standard with the ‘Board-set’ digital measuring system, which measures both board thickness and absolute height from the log decks at both ends of the mill. This allows boards to be cut accurately and even measures tapered boards if required. On each saw-cut the ‘Boardset’ system resets the board thickness deducting the blade kerf automatically.

The Loglogic Cutter-Binder system is a purpose built attachment for fitting to a standard Softrak low ground pressure machine for the harvesting of many types of vegetation on wetland habitats where it’s extremely low ground pressure and unique flexible rubber track ensures minimal damage to both flora and fauna in these environmentally sensitive areas. The reaper-binder is a modified BCS harvesting head, which has proved to be a simple and reliable system used for many years in the industry.

The harvesting head and conveyor is mounted on the standard Softrak front linkage system. The conveying system comprises a variable speed, hydraulically driven chain conveyer mounted behind the harvesting head, which collects the bundles and conveys them up along the side of the vehicle to the rear platform on the rear of the Softrak.

The bundles can then be stacked loose onto the bed or loaded into the baling frame to be formed into a bale 1.2m diameter x 2.4m long comprising approximately 80 - 100 bundles. The bale can be tied with sisal or polypropylene twine, plastic or steel strapping or re-usable ratchet straps. A plastic sheet can be incorporated into the bale to improve weather resistance if stored outside. The bales can then be mechanically handled and their size means they can easily be transported by truck if required.

The Loglogic Softrak  ‘Cut and Collect System’  is a purpose built low ground pressure vehicle, fitted with a front mounted flail harvester, for use in the restoration and harvesting of all types of vegetation. On wetland habitats its extremely low ground pressure and unique flexible rubber track ensures minimal damage to both flora and fauna in these environmentally sensitive areas.

The well-proven ‘direct cut’ flail harvester system with remote controlled electric discharge chute, is capable of picking up swath or directly cut material cleanly. It can work in standing water up to a maximum depth of approx. 350mm and harvest a range of vegetation from typical wetland habitats to bracken, heather, weeds and gorse etc. Due to its unique construction, the cutting flails are relatively insensitive to foreign objects such as stones, stumps etc. The flails can easily be replaced or sharpened. The hood is opened by means of a lever handle and linkage to facilitate inspection and cleaning.

Maintenance costs are minimal due to the sturdy flail rotor with heavy 1.4 kg two-piece flails made from hardened steel. The flails are mounted independently and easily replaced, as only the worn tip has to be replaced. The patented flail suspension causes centrifugal force to lock the flails during operation and provides high cutting power even in heavy crops. When the flails encounter stones or similar hard resistance, they automatically swing back to avoid damage. The chopped material is blown over the cab into a Front loading, 8 m3 rear bulk bin comprising of a lightweight galvanised steel frame and aluminium clad container with a full height automatic opening/closing door.

The bespoke track modules are adapted from our standard Softrak undercarriage as supplied to the RNLI etc. for use in marine environments. The use of hot dipped galvanized steel structural components and 316 stainless shafts, fasteners, hose fittings etc. gives excellent corrosion resistance with longevity and strength. The track modules are constructed in high tensile steels (700Nmm²) and mounted on transverse cross tubes to allow the track width of the machine to be easily varied for different applications and tracks.

The fully floating bogies are rubber
mounted for vibration isolation and maintenance free operation. The heavy-duty idlers, track rollers and top rollers are fitted with phosphor bronze bearings, high-pressure rubber seals and labyrinth type end caps to minimise sand and mud ingress. Regular greasing with water resistant grease allows purging of any contaminants from the bearing surfaces. This type of bearing/seal arrangement has proven to be extremely reliable in jetting burial machines and is also very simple to maintain in the field. Tensioning of the rubber track is by grease filled rams and can be easily adjusted with a standard grease gun. Nitrogen filled accumulators are fitted to the track tension rams to allow for recoil in the event of sand and stones etc. becoming lodged in the track. With all steel track rollers, idlers and sprockets and a track tensile strength in excess of 32,000 kg de-tracking is almost eliminated.

The Tooltrak is a compact crawler tractor & tool carrier. It is available with front and rear PTO and linkages for mounting a range of attachments including mowers, mulchers, bulldozers, winches, log rollers ETC. High tractive effort, low ground pressure and a powerful engine makes the Tooltrak an extremely attractive versatile machine for use in many sectors including: conservation, agriculture, launch and recovery, forestry and highway maintenance.

The Tooltrak has been designed to complement our range of rubber tracked vehicles, which include the Softrak / Bigtrak. We have had many requests form conservation and land management organizations from around the world for a vehicle of this type. The Tooltrak has the powerful turbo diesel engine mounted behind the operator’s cabin.

This configuration of the Tooltrak counterbalancing the equipment mounted to the front dedicated linkage.

The track system is fitted with a high level drive motor and sprocket, this gives better wear characteristics. The track system can be fitted with three sizes of rubber track. Combine this with a very low centre of gravity, making the Tooltrak an ideal choice for mounted equipment, to the dedicated front linkage, mowers, mulches and chippers can be fitted. This combined with the comfortable heated and ventilated cabin with a large front screen giving a close up view of the equipment been operated on the Tooltrak

The ROPS cab comes with tinted glass, full height doors, soundproofing and front and rear halogen work lamps as standard. With a full heating and ventilation system (optional air conditioning) and excellent visibility, stress free operation is ensured in all conditions. For safety, unbreakable ‘Margard’ polycarbonate screens with scratch resistant coating front and rear are standard. The rubber suspension allows the cab to be tilted forward to allow easy access to the transmission for major service. The cab is fitted as standard with a heavy-duty suspension seat with lap belt and armrest. Full instrumentation is provided with tachometer, warning lights and fuel level and water temperature gauges.
